_Dear Hunter, _
This weekend I had the opportunity to experience first-hand a Maine winter
tradition when I joined 168 fellow Poland Spring employees, their friends
and neighbors and members of Maine’s military families at the USO
’s 2nd
[1]Annual Crystal Lake Ice Fishing Derby, which attracted over 3,000
attendees.

The United Services Organization ([2]USO) delivers high-quality programs
and
services to our 2.5 million men and women in uniform, wherever they serve.
Here in Maine, the USO’s Crystal Lake Ice Fishing Derby is a chari
ty event
in support of our military families and the Maine Department of Inland
Fisheries and Wildlife.

_Dana Pinkham and Mark Dubois of
Poland Spring (far left) join Fryeburg
town officials at the official "topping off" ceremony of the new fire
suppression water tank at the East Fryeburg Fire Station._
Poland Spring donated trophy-size brook and rainbow trout from our fish
hatchery in Pierce Pond Township, supplied bottled water and recycling
containers at the event and purchased tickets for any Poland Spring employ
ee
who wanted to attend.
As a company with deep roots in Maine, we are proud to participate in an
event that’s so important to our host communities, local sportsmen
and
military families. It’s one small way we are able to give back and
help make
Maine a better place to live and work.
Speaking of giving back, last month we joined with local Fryeburg official
s
for a "topping off" ceremony of the town’s new fire suppression wa
ter tank.
The 10,000-gallon underground concrete tank gives the fire department, for
the first time, regular access to a dependable water source at the East
Fryeburg fire station. Poland Spring provided a $30,000 Good Neighbor Gran
t
to fund the entire purchase and installation. The work was completed by a
local Fryeburg business, E & R Excavation.
At Poland Spring, we partner with local communities to create good jobs an
d
bring meaningful benefits to our friends and neighbors. For over 165 years
,
Maine people have been at the heart of all we do and our continued success
.
