A group of 12 students (8 girls and 4 boys, all juniors) from our sister school in Shanghai will be visiting Sidwell Friends and Washington, D.C. from February 2 – 12, 2011. We are seeking SFS families who could host one or more students during their visit. Hosts would provide a bed, breakfast and dinner most days, and transportation to and from school. The visitors will sit in on classes at SFS, tour the sites of Washington with their teacher, and spend one of the weekends traveling in the area. Since the group’s visit coincides with the Chinese Lunar New Year, there will be activities at school that will be great opportunities for our students to interact with the visitors from Shanghai!
Our sister school in Shanghai has generously hosted several visiting groups from Sidwell Friends over the last few years, and they will be hosted by the Dalton School in New York for the first half of their trip. We would be very grateful if families in our community could extend the same generous hospitality to our friends from Shanghai.
If you could possibly be a host family, please contact John Flower, Director of the Chinese Studies Program: flowerj@sidwell.edu
