The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge(r) (GPCC) is a very special fund raisin
g program to help end prostate cancer. Prostate cancer affects one in six
men and over 225,000 men will be diagnosed with this disease this year. Th
at is almost the same number of women who will be diagnosed with breast can
cer. A man dies from this disease about every 18 minutes or more than 32,0
00 men a year. I wanted to do something proactive for the men in my life b
y helping to raise funds for prostate cancer awareness, research and free s
creenings for those in need. Everyone who knows anyone who has been afflic
ted by this disease knows that research, money and a positive attitude are
some of the extremely valuable tools needed to fight cancer. The GPCC is
the only men's health fundraiser in the nation that is supported by physici
an groups and was founded by Chesapeake Urology Associates.
