Gentlemen,
I understand people have already started booking flights and hotel rooms,
which makes me feel like this invitation might be slightly overdue. Alas, my
stalling campaign to talk Josh out of getting married has fallen on deaf
ears. He humors me, but he seems pretty determined to make this Anna person
happy. If we must oblige him, the least we can do is send him off in a blaze
of classless, under-dressed, mob-inspired glory. With that in mind, the plan
is to meet the weekend of October 21st-22nd in Atlantic City. Mark my words,
this weekend is fated to evoke tears of joy and tears of sorrow, all in the
name of our beloved Josh.
Logistics first. There are three hotels that come highly recommended in
Atlantic City: Borgata, Borgata, and Borgata. Feel free to test the waters
at any other hotel in AC if you wish, but swim at your own risk. I am in the
process of negotiating a group rate for hotel rooms at Borgata, so please
reply to this email and let me know if you plan to stay at Borgata both
nights, one night, or not at all. They have agreed to a volume-based
discount, but it won't be finalized until we have a headcount. I will send
out an email with instructions for taking advantage of this as soon as I
hear back from everyone.
If your wives only issue a hall pass for one night, try to make it Saturday
night for our dinner at the Old Homestead at Borgata (if you need a hall
pass from your girlfriend, kindly remove your name from this mailing list).
Friday will likely be more of a free-for-all with people flying in at
different times. If for some reason you won't be able to make the dinner on
Saturday night, please let me know as soon as possible.
No one on this list will need any help finding cigars, strippers, or the
craps table once we get there. Activities of this variety are more fun when
they are spontaneous anyhow. Feel free to contact me if you have any
questions - (434) 242-4132. If you have any suggestions for the itinerary,
those are also welcome, unless they are bad.
Boardwalk Empire starts September 19th, so you all have a month to take
notes before you arrive. For many of you, this won't be your first time in
AC. For some of you, this may be your last. Members of both camps are
cordially invited to join Josh and his entourage on October 21st in AC. I
only ask that you come ready to whip out everything you got and do it in the
butt.
Cheers,
Ben
