Content: TEXT/PLAINHere is the race schedule information for Saturday's regatta:
Friday
7:00am- early(ish) dismissal from practice
5:00pm- ALL varsity rowers at TBC to derig and load the trailer
6:30ish crinner at Bristol's
Saturday
6:30am- ALL varsity rowers arrive at Occoquan
6:30am- Coxswain
meeting 8:00am- 2V8 event (first race of the day)- 1st to final, 2nd to petite
10:34am- 1V8 event- 1st to final, 2nd to petite
12:59pm- 2V8 finals
3:41pm- 1V8 finals
6:00(ish)pm- ALL rowers at TBC to unload trailer and rig boats
This will be a long day. Even if our boats do not advance to the finals
and we finish early, ALL rowers are expected to return to TBC at the desi
gnated time to unload the trailer and rig the boats. The time will be det
ermined by the O'Connell trailer drivers.
We have been receiving parking "updates" from the VASRA representatives al
l week. They plan to close the on-site parking lots at 7:30 am and use th
e remote lots only after that time in case any of you plan to arrive later
. Carpooling of rowers for early arrival is recommended. I've attached
a map to the remote parking site for those who might need it. Coming in
to the regular site and having to turn around can waste up to an hour of
your time. (It can also take a while to catch the shuttle from the remot
e lots. Allow plenty of time)
Directions and information about the Occoquan/Sandy Run site are posted on
the Team Snap site under Photo/Files. Go to "Files" and go to the second
page. Print that sheet off to bring with you. Allow about an hour to ge
t there. Remember $10
cash only for parking, no pets, and comfortable sho
es for trail hiking.
Remember---rowers go to the launch site, parents go to the viewing site.
Ask if you aren't sure. Parents can also visit the tent between races.
Not sure where it will be located. Bring your roster with cell phone nu
mbers in case you need to call.
The line-ups are not yet posted. If you want to know what lane we are in
and who we are competing against, go to www.VASRA.org tomorrow or Friday
and click on Regattas on the side tool bar. Click on Championships with
Saturday's date.
FINALLY---Monika Rosenfeld was kind enough to sign up for a volunteer slot
for this regatta and drew a FIVE HOUR shift watching pedestrians cross th
e road in the woods(?). I'd like to see if we can give her some relief th
rough the morning--and at least make sure she gets to watch Lexie's race
at 8:00. Let her know if you are willing to shave some time off of her
shift. mrradr@aol.com
See you Saturday. Go Sidwell Crew!
